The ball went over the crossbar instead. 7 minutes into the match, Red Bull Magnus's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Jacinto came free, but Aloísio Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sérgio Jacinto struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Aloísio Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Engenheiros da Vila. After a rather tough play, Red Bull Magnus's Allan Gomes got a free kick in the 10th minute. Sérgio Jacinto took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aloísio Guimarães. Aloísio Guimarães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some careless play in the Red Bull Magnus defense, Osvaldinho Arruda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aloísio Guimarães. The Red Bull Magnus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aloísio Guimarães should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Gernando Sarmento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aloísio Guimarães. Red Bull Magnus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gernando Sarmento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 22 minutes, Osvaldinho Arruda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Engenheiros da Vila and the Red Bull Magnus players grew even worse after the yellow card. Osvaldinho Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Osvaldinho Arruda struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Aloísio Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Engenheiros da Vila. The Engenheiros da Vila fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Engenheiros da Vila's Osvaldinho Arruda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Aloísio Guimarães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldinho Arruda's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Aloísio Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldinho Arruda in the 38th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osvaldinho Arruda in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aloísio Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidnei Linhares got free with Eriberto Queirós in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Engenheiros da Vila were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Allan Gomes was the one to do the kick off. Josué Castro hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Gernando Sarmento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aloísio Guimarães having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Sérgio Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Engenheiros da Vila's supporters rose to their feet, but Sérgio Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aloísio Guimarães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Engenheiros da Vila booed when Red Bull Magnus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 61 in the game by Osvaldinho Arruda from a close distance when the talented Aloísio Guimarães managed to make a qualified save. Red Bull Magnus's players were relieved. A collision led to Red Bull Magnus getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ricardo Travassos hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the game, Ricardo Travassos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Red Bull Magnus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Engenheiros da Vila the free kick. Osvaldinho Arruda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Osvaldinho Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osvaldinho Arruda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aloísio Guimarães having to make a save. In the 89th minute, Sérgio Jacinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes in the game, Flávio Mineiro fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Aloísio Guimarães having to interfere. Aloísio Guimarães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldinho Arruda in the 95th minute. The Red Bull Magnus fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Engenheiros da Vila were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
