The referee ignored Grêmio Bulls's protests and gave Silvério Recife a yellow card for diving instead. Silvério Recife hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. João Francisco Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 71st match minute, Guarei FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Guarei FC's João Francisco Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edson de Senna in the 72nd minute of play.
