In the 4th minute of the match Corinthians got a corner. Jardim América FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. A well-hit corner resulted in Emílio Marquez heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 7 minutes into the match, Enio Mangueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romeu Souto. Corinthians's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enio Mangueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The supporters of Jardim América FC booed when Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emílio Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Fernandinho Urbano came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Corinthians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernandinho Urbano couldn't finish the play. In the 18thth minute of the game Fernandinho Urbano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jardim América FC's Luan Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 20th minute Edmílson Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luan Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeu Souto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enio Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When Corinthians's Fernandinho Urbano in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a rather tough play, Jardim América FC's Paulo Cruz got a free kick in the 36th minute. Luan Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandinho Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernandinho Urbano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Jardim América FC's goalkeeper Luan Ramos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomás Mazza made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fernando Guedes to maneuver through the defense. Romeu Souto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enio Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 minutes, Tomás Mazza made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Corinthians's Romeu Souto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Paulo Renato Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Luan Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Emílio Marquez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luan Ramos. The goal made the score 2-1. In the 79th match minute, Jardim América FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chicão de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. Luan Ramos acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 80th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gonçalo de Lara. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cássio Cardoso during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Emílio Marquez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luan Ramos. That made the score 2-2 in the 89 minute of play. If Emílio Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Corinthians's Romeu Souto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Vargas in the 94th minute of play. A collision led to Jardim América FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Enio Mangueira hit a great ball. Despite being the better team, Corinthians failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
