With a little luck, AKI CORINTHIANS's Dudu de Carvalho got control of the ball when Luís Fernando Barros tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 16th minute, Willian Vergílio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Igor Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Marcelo Alagoano fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villa Verde FC's protests and gave Marcelo Alagoano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Marcelo Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dudu de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Carlos Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Baiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dudu de Carvalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Afonso Baiano ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39th minute Frederico Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AKI CORINTHIANS's Dudu de Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Baiano in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mathias Queirós made a kick off. Dudu de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Baiano in the 54th minute of the match. Afonso Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Igor Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias Queirós in the 69th minute of play. The Villa Verde FC fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Villa Verde FC's Afonso Baiano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Baiano in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dudu de Carvalho saved AKI CORINTHIANS from getting behind. Igor Camargo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mathias Queirós showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 78 minute of play. Igor Camargo was a little too slow when Mathias Queirós got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 82nd minute. The score was now 3-3. With a little luck, Villa Verde FC's Igor Camargo got control of the ball when Frederico Alves tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 94th minute, Claudinei Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AKI CORINTHIANS were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
