Leonardo Vargas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Akira アキラ getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Edgar Rocha hit a great ball. Leonardo Vargas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Soeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Oranil defense, Jürgen Klinsmann kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Téo Koehler. The Oranil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Téo Koehler should have stopped the shot. Márcio de Azevedo hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When Oranil's Gonçalo Soeiro in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Akira アキラ's goalie prevented a goal. Téo Koehler was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Manfredo Gaspar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo MacAlister in the 47th minute of play forced Oranil's goalkeeper Téo Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronaldo MacAlister made a kick off. Oranil's Téo Koehler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo MacAlister in the 51st minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Oranil's Gonçalo Soeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leonardo Vargas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Téo Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermínio Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Akira アキラ booed when Oranil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano Ortiz's late challenge caught a Akira アキラ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 71st minute Ronaldo MacAlister shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Téo Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gildo Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oranil's protests and gave Gildo Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th minute, Gildo Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. But to his dismay, Percival Simão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Luiz Fabiano Ortiz hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Akira アキラ's Jürgen Klinsmann got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Oranil players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Akira アキラ.
