The audience thought a goal was coming when Severino Soares got free with Dênis Valle in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Naldo Simão hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The nice shot from Severino Soares in the 21stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Dênis Valle had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Clube Atlético Paulista's Severino Soares came free and shot a quick shot against goal 21 minutes in the game, fortunately Dênis Valle had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 24th minute of the match, Severino Soares got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dênis Valle was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dênis Valle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Percival Leal's late challenge caught a Clube Atlético Paulista's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hermínio Pena made a kick off. Marquinhos Pena took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dênis Valle. Dênis Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Severino Soares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dênis Valle was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. In the 77th minute Augusto Paranaense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Severino Soares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Atlético Paulista's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® the free kick.
