The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Augusto Sampaio got free with César Boldrini in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 5th minute of the match Alvinegro Carioca got a corner. Vila Industrial FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jefferson Mesquita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A sloppy throw-in by Jefferson Mesquita in the 9th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Vila Industrial FC's Marcus Piper. Jefferson Mesquita charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jefferson Mesquita the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Alvinegro Carioca's Jefferson Mesquita got a free kick in the 11th minute. Cássio Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Jacques Ares in the 14th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enrique Leite in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cássio Aguiar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Enrique Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cássio Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Jacques Ares in the 31st minute of the match. If Enrique Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cássio Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Enrique Leite came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Vila Industrial FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Leite couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enrique Leite stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Vila Industrial FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Guerra to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Enrique Leite took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Cássio Aguiar to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Vila Industrial FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jean-Jacques Ares hit a great ball. Vila Industrial FC's Pang Yang Yong was substituted for David Beckham. Jefferson Mesquita, 59 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Léo Faria hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After 66 minutes of play, Vila Industrial FC's Pang Yang Yong made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cássio Aguiar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alvinegro Carioca's Cássio Aguiar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Alvinegro Carioca from getting a goal against them. Cássio Aguiar made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Pang Yang Yong sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pang Yang Yong got free with Cássio Aguiar in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute Enrique Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nicodim Mihădaș fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alvinegro Carioca's protests and gave Nicodim Mihădaș a yellow card for diving instead. Vila Industrial FC's Arthur Guedes was substituted for Enrique Leite. In the 85th match minute, Alvinegro Carioca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicodim Mihădaș to maneuver through the defense. Cássio Aguiar was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Daniel Guerra. Marcus Piper scored 0-4 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cássio Aguiar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 90th minute Arthur Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicodim Mihădaș hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the match, Arthur Guedes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cássio Aguiar. Alvinegro Carioca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arthur Guedes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Cássio Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Alvinegro Carioca fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vila Industrial FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
