The supporters of Motta Futebol Clube booed when Alvinegro Carioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldão de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrick Costa in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cássio Aguiar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Alvinegro Carioca defense, 吕震强 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cássio Aguiar. The Alvinegro Carioca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cássio Aguiar should have stopped the shot. Cássio Aguiar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elias Freire in the 10th minute. After 13 played minutes Alvinegro Carioca got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Augusto Sampaio. A hard shot by Magno Arce from long distance, 14 minutes into the match, got Cássio Aguiar's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Zeca Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, 吕震强 took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Cássio Aguiar to make any attempt to save it. José Augusto Quirino hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The long shot by Zeca Esteves in the 22nd minute really tested Cássio Aguiar's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Cássio Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juninho Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Augusto Sampaio in the 25th minute of the match. In the 25th minute Carlos Augusto Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cássio Aguiar made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Guilherme Arana sent off a good shot on target. Cássio Aguiar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guilherme Arana went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 37th match minute, Motta Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelinho Paulista to maneuver through the defense. José Augusto Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Freire having to interfere. Carlos Augusto Sampaio's late challenge caught a Motta Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Augusto Sampaio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Alvinegro Carioca getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Carlos Augusto Sampaio hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elias Freire to make the kick off. Cássio Aguiar came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Motta Futebol Clube's Patrick Costa. But to his dismay, Patrick Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 吕震强 took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cássio Aguiar. Cássio Aguiar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Zeca Esteves took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cássio Aguiar. Motta Futebol Clube's Marcinho Paes was substituted for Elias Freire. Motta Futebol Clube made a substitution. Zeca de Azevedo replaced Zeca Esteves. Motta Futebol Clube's Juninho Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Ferraz in the 74th minute of play. Cássio Aguiar came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Motta Futebol Clube's Zeca de Azevedo. But to his dismay, Zeca de Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 84 minutes into the match, Alvinegro Carioca's goal looked a bit too open when 吕震强 came free, but Cássio Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvinegro Carioca's Cássio Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcinho Paes in the 86th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho Paes in the 87th minute of play forced Alvinegro Carioca's goalkeeper Cássio Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cássio Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcinho Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Cássio Aguiar came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Motta Futebol Clube's 吕震强. But to his dismay, 吕震强 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. There was no doubt that Motta Futebol Clube were the better team. Motta Futebol Clube's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
