The audience was convinced that John Mendes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armando Nascimento was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. After 12 minutes of play, Real Brasília FC - DMZ's Washington Fernandes made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nilton Berger was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Real Brasília FC - DMZ defense, John Mendes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armando Nascimento. The Real Brasília FC - DMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armando Nascimento should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd match minute, Real Brasília FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Severo to maneuver through the defense. Nilton Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilton da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Allan Severo made in the 35th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Frédson Leite. After having played for 40 minutes, John Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MAGNIFICOS.FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

52 minutes into the match, John Mendes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armando Nascimento. Real Brasília FC - DMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John Mendes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind MAGNIFICOS.FC's goalkeeper Nilton Berger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 67th minute, John Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cléber Falcão took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nilton Berger. MAGNIFICOS.FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. John Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Betinho Amaral notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of MAGNIFICOS.FC's Nilton Berger. Nilton Berger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Patrick da Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. John Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Waldemar Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Real Brasília FC - DMZ's Wilton da Costa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luiz Paulo Almeida, made in the 88th minute of the game. Nilton Berger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Washington Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. In the 93rd match minute, MAGNIFICOS.FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardinho Marquez to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute of the match Frédson Leite shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nilton Berger showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The MAGNIFICOS.FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MAGNIFICOS.FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
