In the last second Luizinho Tasso throw himself and got hold of the ball when Washington Fernandes in the 33rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After some careless play in the Sumaré Sport Club defense, Frédson Leite kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luizinho Tasso. The Sumaré Sport Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luizinho Tasso should have stopped the shot. Luizinho Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Washington Fernandes in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Sebastião Prestes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when Wanderson Brodel put in a rough tackle. After 51 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sumaré Sport Club! Carlos Eduardo da Silveira's late challenge caught a Real Brasília FC - DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Eduardo da Silveira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th match minute, Sumaré Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Eduardo da Silveira to maneuver through the defense.
