The supporters of FALCÕES VERDES booed when Galo do Japi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 3 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Zé Paulo Rossi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Catarinense in the 6th minute of play forced FALCÕES VERDES's goalkeeper Dalmo Sergipano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 7 minutes, Dalmo Sergipano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some careless play in the Galo do Japi defense, Murillo Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delfim Chaves. The Galo do Japi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delfim Chaves should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Catarinense in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalmo Sergipano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 16th minute Isaltino Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalmo Sergipano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilfredo Cefero in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute Joel Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino Castro came free, but Delfim Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FALCÕES VERDES's Dalmo Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Catarinense in the 29th minute of play. Isaltino Castro hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Wilfredo Cefero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalmo Sergipano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Delfim Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elano Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dalmo Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Catarinense in the 41st minute of play. Delfim Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Senna in the 43rd minute of the match. Delfim Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elano Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 56th minute, Ramón Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Richard Vieira got a throw-in 62 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Leonel Braga. In the 66th minute Joel Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Galo do Japi's Joel Catarinense in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 82nd minute of play forced FALCÕES VERDES's goalkeeper Dalmo Sergipano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Ortiz threw the ball into play from the sideline. Galo do Japi's Gernando Gomes quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Joinvilense got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FALCÕES VERDES's Dalmo Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Cefero in the 85th minute of play. After 88 played minutes FALCÕES VERDES got a freekick which was hit by Richard Vieira. Dalmo Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 89th minute of play. After some careless play in the FALCÕES VERDES defense, Ronaldo Joinvilense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dalmo Sergipano. The FALCÕES VERDES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dalmo Sergipano should have stopped the shot. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
