Trindade Atlético Club's Edmílson Britto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Aparecido in the 9th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Mark Faiko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goianésia E.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Mark Faiko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmílson Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elder da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Paes in the 19th minute of the match. Cássio Paes scored 1-0 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elder da Silva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 23 played minutes Trindade Atlético Club got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Lopez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Faiko in the 24th minute of play forced Trindade Atlético Club's goalkeeper Edmílson Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Angelo Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Paes in the 27th minute of play forced Goianésia E.C's goalkeeper Elder da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Trindade Atlético Club's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Aparecido came free, but Edmílson Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Goianésia E.C fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Goianésia E.C's Mark Faiko looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 35 played minutes Goianésia E.C got a freekick which was hit by Diego Almeida. After a rather tough play, Trindade Atlético Club's Cássio Paes got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of Goianésia E.C booed when Trindade Atlético Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edu Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmílson Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Edmílson Britto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mark Faiko went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Yan Pereira made a precise shot to the right of Elder da Silva. Goianésia E.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Mário Aparecido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mário Aparecido got free with Edmílson Britto in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Trindade Atlético Club getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Fabiano Lopez hit a great ball. Fabiano Lopez was shown his second yellow card after 63 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Trindade Atlético Club! In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Goianésia E.C. Diego Almeida stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Edmílson Britto. 2-3. After having played for 67 minutes, Mark Faiko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goianésia E.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Faiko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mark Faiko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 78 played minutes Trindade Atlético Club got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio Carvalho. Edmílson Britto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Faiko in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Trindade Atlético Club's Luís Fábio Carvalho got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute Mark Faiko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Diego Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Mark Faiko put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Edmílson Britto. After 96 minutes, Cássio Paes made it 3-5 with a short kick to the right side. Goianésia E.C's Elder da Silva tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Goianésia E.C supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Goianésia E.C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
