After a rather tough play, Canarinho Atordoado's Elivélton Carvalho got a free kick in the 14th minute. After having played for 17 minutes, Haroldo Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montalcino SE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Maciel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abel de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percival dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Paraense in the 21st minute of play forced Canarinho Atordoado's goalkeeper Egídio Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Haroldo Maciel came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Montalcino SE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Maciel couldn't finish the play. After 25 played minutes, Canarinho Atordoado's Percival dos Santos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Abel de Medeiros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Canarinho Atordoado reached it. Canarinho Atordoado's Egídio Sampaio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Canarinho Atordoado from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Canarinho Atordoado's Egídio Sampaio got control of the ball when Haroldo Maciel tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Percival dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 36 minutes on the clock, João Adolfo da Silva commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave Canarinho Atordoado a penalty, 37 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Percival dos Santos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Montalcino SE's Abel de Medeiros. 0-1. A collision led to Montalcino SE getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Cristóvão Paiva hit a great ball. Abel de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fellipe Sampaio in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Canarinho Atordoado were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Montalcino SE's Abel de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Percival dos Santos in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Percival dos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canarinho Atordoado's supporters rose to their feet, but Percival dos Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel de Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abel de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 63 minutes into the match, Canarinho Atordoado's goal looked a bit too open when Edvaldo Penha came free, but Egídio Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fellipe Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Percival dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 74 played minutes Montalcino SE got a freekick which was hit by Adrianinho Pereira. If Edvaldo Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute Percival dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Canarinho Atordoado booed when Montalcino SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abel de Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when João Cerezo sent off a good shot on target. After 84 played minutes Montalcino SE got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Paiva. Edvaldo Penha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Egídio Sampaio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Canarinho Atordoado's Percival dos Santos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Abel de Medeiros. Abel de Medeiros yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Canarinho Atordoado's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
