But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sílvio Luiz de Amaral couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Bene Animatus booed when Błαck Bułłs MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabius Cannavaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Egídio Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bene Animatus were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Błαck Bułłs MZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Horácio Soares took the corner. The corner led Bene Animatus's Horácio Soares to fire away a dangerous shot which Augusto Pereira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sílvio Luiz de Amaral to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Błαck Bułłs MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gildo Capixaba to maneuver through the defense. Błαck Bułłs MZ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
