Telmo Trigo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Luizinho Velasco. 43 minutes into the match, Armandinho Vergílio notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Joinville City - FSCMZ's Edmundo Falcão. Edmundo Falcão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Armandinho Vergílio made the kick off in the second half. Adriano Joinvilense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Telmo Trigo having to interfere. Luís Paulo Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Telmo Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Joinvilense in the 60th minute of the match. Adriano Joinvilense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Telmo Trigo having to make a save. After 73 played minutes Joinville City - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Velasco. When Evandro Lago came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the A.A. Francana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evandro Lago couldn't finish the play. In a very dangerous position, a player in A.A. Francana fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Joinville City - FSCMZ a penalty, 82 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luizinho Velasco, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of A.A. Francana's Telmo Trigo. 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adriano Joinvilense in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Telmo Trigo saved A.A. Francana from getting behind. When Adriano Joinvilense came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Joinville City - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Joinvilense couldn't finish the play. A.A. Francana's Telmo Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Joinvilense in the 93rd minute of play. 98 minutes into the game, Nilson da Rocha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joinville City - FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.A. Francana the free kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Joinville City - FSCMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while A.A. Francana had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
