André Luís Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14thth minute of the game Eriberto Esteves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mayhem Sharks's Marcelo Alves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mayhem Sharks's Marcelo Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílton Motta in the 17th minute of play. After 23 minutes of play, Botafogo AP's Clemente Lopes made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelo Alves was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Ton Torres fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mayhem Sharks's protests and gave Ton Torres a yellow card for diving instead. After 25 played minutes Mayhem Sharks got a freekick which was hit by Ton Torres. Botafogo AP's Chiquinho Vasconcelos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Botafogo AP from getting a goal against them. Douglas Trigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Chiquinho Vasconcelos made a huge save. In the 30th minute, Eriberto Esteves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Botafogo AP's Chiquinho Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rony Meira in the 31st minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Clemente Lopes notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Mayhem Sharks's Marcelo Alves. Marcelo Alves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Botafogo AP! Chiquinho Vasconcelos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fred Cruz went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Douglas Trigo to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Clemente Lopes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Mayhem Sharks's Douglas Trigo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chiquinho Vasconcelos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Clemente Lopes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Douglas Trigo notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Botafogo AP's Chiquinho Vasconcelos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eriberto Esteves got free with Marcelo Alves in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Clemente Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo AP's supporters rose to their feet, but Clemente Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Alves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 93 minutes, Sidnei Monteiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mayhem Sharks and the Botafogo AP players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the final whistle sounded Botafogo AP left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Mayhem Sharks.
