The flamengoric. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vágner Sena should have stopped the shot. Frederico de Salles was a little too slow when Jorginho Torres got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Netto in the 34th minute of play forced flamengoric.'s goalkeeper Vágner Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 37 minutes, Jorginho Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. flamengoric.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorginho Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peterson Novaes got free with Frederico de Salles in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th minute Tião França shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vágner Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tião França blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vágner Sena having to make a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peterson Novaes to make the kick off. Tião França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Sena having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Barbie Doll United U23's Alan Gaúcho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vágner Sena. That made the score 1-2 after 54 minutes of play. Alan Gaúcho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Wallace Yan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barbie Doll United U23's Frederico de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Torres in the 64th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Jorginho Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot. flamengoric.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Jorginho Torres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frederico de Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Peterson Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the flamengoric. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peterson Novaes couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute, Barbie Doll United U23's Carlinhos da Costa seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Carlinhos da Costa the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Barbie Doll United U23 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carlinhos da Costa had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvério Netto got free with Vágner Sena in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Waldemar de Godoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Vágner Sena made a huge save.
