Jeremias Sampaio's late challenge caught a E.C 2 Janeiro RS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremias Sampaio helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, S.C.CHUÍ's Jeremias Sampaio got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 6 minutes into the match, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalkeeper Telmo Madureira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriberto Godoi. In the 9th minute of the match, Eriberto Godoi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Telmo Madureira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 19 minutes into the match, S.C.CHUÍ's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael de Salles came free, but Cido Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl Freire in the 20th minute of play forced E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalkeeper Telmo Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremias Sampaio hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 29 minutes into the game, when Albertinho Guedes put in a rough tackle. After a rather tough play, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Albertinho Guedes got a free kick in the 30th minute. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Laerte Barreto 31 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. If Eriberto Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Humberto Paes to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Laerte Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.C.CHUÍ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laerte Barreto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Telmo Madureira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eriberto Godoi's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. After 60 minutes of play, S.C.CHUÍ's Laerte Barreto made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Telmo Madureira was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of S.C.CHUÍ booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaká Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, S.C.CHUÍ's Cido Schmidt got control of the ball when Raphael de Salles tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Laerte Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Telmo Madureira was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 78thth minute of the game Eriberto Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 89th minute Laerte Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiaguinho Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. E.C 2 Janeiro RS made a substitution. Haroldo Sanches replaced Raphael de Salles. After a rather tough play, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Tiaguinho Moura got a free kick in the 91st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laerte Barreto in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Telmo Madureira saved E.C 2 Janeiro RS from getting behind. In the 95thth minute of the game Eriberto Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Telmo Madureira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Tostão Nunes was substituted for Tiaguinho Moura. In the 97th minute, Laerte Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
