In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind SALIMEN's goalkeeper Aníbal Branco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 10 played minutes SALIMEN got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Machado. 12 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Antunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aníbal Branco. SALIMEN's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelinho Antunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Isaltino Couto took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aníbal Branco. Aníbal Branco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 19thth minute of the game Marcelinho Antunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SALIMEN's Aníbal Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 20 played minutes SALIMEN got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Teixeira. The supporters of SALIMEN booed when SANTOS Indaiatuba F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víktor Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Ademar Guerra from long distance, 24 minutes into the match, got Eusébio Sanches's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 26th minute, Ernesto Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Isaltino Couto managed to get in a good position for a shot. SANTOS Indaiatuba F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Isaltino Couto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aníbal Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudinho Teixeira hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelinho Antunes in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aníbal Branco saved SALIMEN from getting behind. SALIMEN's Miguel Dantas got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Antunes notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of SALIMEN's Aníbal Branco. Aníbal Branco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Marcelinho Antunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aníbal Branco was relentless in the 47th minute of the game.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Antunes in the 78th minute of play forced SALIMEN's goalkeeper Aníbal Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aníbal Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelinho Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isaltino Couto got free with Aníbal Branco in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95thth minute of the game Marcelinho Antunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SALIMEN's Aníbal Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The SANTOS Indaiatuba F.C. players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
