Rui de Mendonça came out of the goal and Antônio Carlos Valadares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th match minute, Olivedos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Famih Chee to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the game, Dário Viana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rui de Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
