Coritiba Foot Ball Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thiago Machado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Carlos Torres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thiago Machado's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Garro in the 20th minute of play forced PATO BRANCO FC's goalkeeper José Carlos Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.

After 51 minutes of play, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Thiago Machado made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Carlos Torres was left in no man's land by his defense there! PATO BRANCO FC's José Carlos Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Guerreiro in the 86th minute of play. The supporters of PATO BRANCO FC booed when Coritiba Foot Ball Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Guerreiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
