In the 3rd match minute, Joinville Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Wellington Montenegro managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Talento Futebol clube's Carlinhos Velasco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Wellington Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlinhos Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute André Luiz Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes Talento Futebol clube got a freekick which was hit by Saul Francho. Carlinhos Velasco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Wellington Montenegro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Talento Futebol clube's Benjamim Sabóia got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Talento Futebol clube booed when Joinville Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benjamim Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wellington Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saul Francho in the 31st minute of the match. Wellington Montenegro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Saul Francho's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Wellington Montenegro was a little too slow when Saul Francho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Joinville Esporte Clube's Wellington Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saul Francho in the 53rd minute of play. In the 56th minute Saul Francho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlinhos Velasco took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wellington Montenegro. Wellington Montenegro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Wellington Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamim Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 64th match minute, Joinville Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Lopes to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th match minute, Joinville Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid Vaz to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the match, Saul Francho notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Joinville Esporte Clube's Wellington Montenegro. Wellington Montenegro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wellington Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlinhos Velasco in the 76th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Joinville Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamim Sabóia came free, but Wellington Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wellington Montenegro came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Talento Futebol clube's Carlinhos Velasco. But to his dismay, Carlinhos Velasco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 89th minute, Carlinhos Velasco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wellington Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Wellington Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlinhos Velasco in the 93rd minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Talento Futebol clube fully deserved thier win.
