Emanuel Almeida hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 5th minute, Tostão Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute Nelson Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 minutes, André Luiz Esteves made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Valdemar Quadros tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as André Luiz Esteves kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valdemar Quadros. That made the score 2-0 in the 15 minute of play. After 17 played minutes Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- got a freekick which was hit by Tostão Pernambucano. After 18 minutes of play, Joinville Esporte Clube's André Luiz Esteves made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdemar Quadros was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 20 played minutes Joinville Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Eger. After a rather tough play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Deivid Vaz got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Valdemar Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Valdemar Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luiz Esteves in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Geovanni Leite got a free kick in the 32nd minute. With 36 minutes on the clock, Nelson Eger commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Joinville Esporte Clube:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-:s goal. The referee gave Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- a penalty, 38 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Manfredo Cabral, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Joinville Esporte Clube's Wellington Montenegro. 3-1. 42 minutes into the game, Sílvio Ramalho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Wellington Montenegro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s zone, Gonçalo Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdemar Quadros came out of the goal and Gonçalo Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when André Luiz Esteves made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Aguiar came free, but Valdemar Quadros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joinville Esporte Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Geovanni Leite in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Ramalho in the 59th minute of play forced Joinville Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Wellington Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Haroldo Recife reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wellington Montenegro. The goal made the score 3-3. In the 64th match minute, Joinville Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luiz Esteves to maneuver through the defense. Valdemar Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Luiz Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarbas Sanches hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Wellington Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Ramalho in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th match minute, Joinville Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
