Joel Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nestor Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 25th minute of the match. After 26 minutes Barrenta SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was André Luís Martins who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Futbol Club RRFV's Dida da Cunha got a free kick in the 28th minute. Ursino Silvestre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Diamantino Senna made a huge save. Diamantino Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fábio Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Futbol Club RRFV booed when Barrenta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Barrenta SC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto de Sousa came free, but Nestor Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Fábio Lima made a kick off. Diamantino Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ursino Silvestre in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Joel Sabóia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barrenta SC's Nestor Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kauã Lira in the 64th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Futbol Club RRFV's zone, Ursino Silvestre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diamantino Senna came out of the goal and Ursino Silvestre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diamantino Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Lima in the 67th minute of play. The Barrenta SC fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when Barrenta SC's Joel Sabóia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Damião in the 86th minute of play. Joel Sabóia scored 3-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diamantino Senna, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Barrenta SC's Nestor Carioca got control of the ball when Leonel Sanches tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joel Sabóia hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
