In the 8th minute, Cesinha Vieira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flávio Fantini was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Jailson de Mendonça took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flávio Fantini. Flávio Fantini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Flávio Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson de Mendonça in the 18th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jailson de Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flávio Fantini was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. S.C.PAULISTA's Flávio Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson de Mendonça in the 21st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in S.C.PAULISTA's zone, Jailson de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flávio Fantini came out of the goal and Jailson de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jailson de Mendonça in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flávio Fantini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The S.C.PAULISTA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Imbituba - FSCMZ were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dito Sousa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, S.C.PAULISTA's goal looked a bit too open when Jailson de Mendonça came free, but Flávio Fantini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Jailson de Mendonça nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After some careless play in the S.C.PAULISTA defense, Jailson de Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flávio Fantini. The S.C.PAULISTA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flávio Fantini should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd match minute, S.C.PAULISTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo da Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle sounded Imbituba - FSCMZ left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than S.C.PAULISTA.
