The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Emerson Cruz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ramón Linhares. That made the score 2-0 in the 8 minute of play. After 14 minutes, Serginho Paulista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maragassume AD - CIMZ and the INTER FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of INTER FC booed when Maragassume AD - CIMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Emerson Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hortêncio Linhares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Ramón Linhares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A hard shot 19 in the game by Mandi Oca from a close distance when the talented Ramón Linhares managed to make a qualified save. Maragassume AD - CIMZ's players were relieved. Emerson Cruz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcelo Valverde hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hortêncio Linhares got free with Ramón Linhares in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ramón Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emerson Cruz in the 34th minute of play. Emerson Cruz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Maragassume AD - CIMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hortêncio Linhares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Léo Trigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. INTER FC fully deserved thier win.
