When Bezerros EC's Gustavo Corrêa in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Matungo Gaúcho's goalie prevented a goal. In the 9th minute Geovânio Camargo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cido da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Bezerros EC's Gino Brito got control of the ball when Miguel de Andrade tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 13 minutes of play, Bezerros EC's Gustavo Corrêa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cido da Rocha was left in no man's land by his defense there! 17 minutes into the match, Geovânio Camargo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Matungo Gaúcho's Cido da Rocha. Cido da Rocha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 23rd minute, Gustavo Corrêa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cido da Rocha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 26th minute, Gustavo Corrêa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bezerros EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 44th minute Bezerros EC were awarded a corner. Dedé Loyola went to the cornerflag to take it. Cido da Rocha came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Bezerros EC's Geovânio Camargo. But to his dismay, Geovânio Camargo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gustavo Corrêa to strike the kick off in the second half. Isaltino Torres's late challenge caught a Bezerros EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaltino Torres helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Matungo Gaúcho getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Isaltino Torres hit a great ball. Bezerros EC's Dedé Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovânio Camargo in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cido da Rocha saved Matungo Gaúcho from getting behind. Cido da Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráuzio Tasso in the 57th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Matungo Gaúcho defense, Gustavo Corrêa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cido da Rocha. The Matungo Gaúcho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cido da Rocha should have stopped the shot. Cido da Rocha didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 65th minute, which inside left pole to 0-7. If Dráuzio Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dráuzio Tasso took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cido da Rocha. Cido da Rocha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. Matungo Gaúcho's Cido da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio Camargo in the 88th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Gustavo Corrêa took a quick shot and it went in 0-10 without a chance for Cido da Rocha to make any attempt to save it. In the 94th minute Gustavo Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cido da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bezerros EC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
