The Matungo Gaúcho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé de Senna should have stopped the shot. 11 minutes into the match, Matungo Gaúcho's goal looked a bit too open when Dráuzio Tasso came free, but Zé de Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Matungo Gaúcho getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Breno Velloso hit a great ball. Matungo Gaúcho's Zé de Senna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Matungo Gaúcho from getting a goal against them. 20 minutes into the match, Matungo Gaúcho's goalkeeper Zé de Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dráuzio Tasso. After 23 played minutes Matungo Gaúcho got a freekick which was hit by Amílton Machado. Bezerros EC's Dedé Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé de Senna made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Gustavo Corrêa sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Bezerros EC's Luiz Quadros got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute, Abelardo de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Matungo Gaúcho getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Matungo Gaúcho's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Percy de Azevedo 35 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Matungo Gaúcho's Zé de Senna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Matungo Gaúcho from getting a goal against them. Zé de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovânio Camargo, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio Camargo in the 45th minute of play forced Matungo Gaúcho's goalkeeper Zé de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 54 minutes of play, Bezerros EC's Gustavo Corrêa made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé de Senna was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dráuzio Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dráuzio Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Geovânio Camargo notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Matungo Gaúcho's Zé de Senna. Zé de Senna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Bezerros EC's Geovânio Camargo got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute, Gustavo Corrêa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Matungo Gaúcho's Abelardo de Lara got a free kick in the 71st minute. Dráuzio Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
