The audience thought a goal was coming when Oséias Sergipano got free with Claudinho Massa in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 64 played minutes, FC St. Pauli's Pedro Luiz Trevisan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claudinho Massa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. A very good opportunity. Régis Coutinho struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Claudinho Massa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC St. Pauli. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC St. Pauli fully deserved thier win.
