In the 26th minute Marcelo Vasconcelos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guará FC's Gino do Vale got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Guará FC's Flavinho Alagoano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Doni Meirelles. Doni Meirelles yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. In the 64th minute, Akil Yurtsever got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Flavinho Alagoano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doni Meirelles was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. In the 70th minute of the match, Gino do Vale got a very nice opportunity to score, but Doni Meirelles was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
