In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Scarlet Speedster's goalkeeper Jacinto Rocha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Scarlet Speedster's Angelo Di Maria ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Férid Khalifa. Férid Khalifa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Jacinto Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The audience was convinced that Anderson Barral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacinto Rocha was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Anderson Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Rocha having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enrique Valladares to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's goal looked a bit too open when Matías Brasil came free, but Jacinto Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldo Braga charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osvaldo Braga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Férid Khalifa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The corner led Scarlet Speedster's John Weeke to fire away a dangerous shot which Férid Khalifa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané da Costa in the 56th minute of play forced Botafogo MZRJ's goalkeeper Férid Khalifa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Botafogo MZRJ's Férid Khalifa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mané da Costa in the 86th minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Cido Nóbrega was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Botafogo MZRJ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scarlet Speedster the free kick. Cido Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's goalkeeper Jacinto Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matías Brasil. In the 93rd minute, Célio Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's goal looked a bit too open when Matías Brasil came free, but Jacinto Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
