In the 10th match minute, THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júnior Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute Renatinho Linares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA's Caetano Moreira got a free kick in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Donato Vargas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sandrinho Viana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32nd minute, Renatinho Linares made a precise shot to the right of Giovanni Pena. Júbilo Iwata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Oswaldo Recife kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Sandrinho Viana was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mazinho Correia. Danilo Bittencourt hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes Júbilo Iwata got a freekick which was hit by Mazinho Correia. In the 39th minute, Renatinho Linares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute, Júbilo Iwata's Marcel Lira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donato Vargas was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA defense, Marcel Lira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sandrinho Viana. The THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sandrinho Viana should have stopped the shot. After 57 minutes of play, Júbilo Iwata's Marcel Lira made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sandrinho Viana was left in no man's land by his defense there! Júbilo Iwata made a substitution. Elenko Hrulev replaced Marquinhos Leme. In the 61st minute, Elenko Hrulev made a precise shot to the right of Sandrinho Viana. THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. THESPA KUSATSU GUNMA's Sandrinho Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafinha Velasco in the 66th minute of play. Sandrinho Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafinha Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mazinho Correia during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandrinho Viana prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
