Spectators: 161 (Terracing: 121, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Flávio Dante started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luan Amorim during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Luan Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 5 played minutes Zebus FC got a freekick which was hit by Igor Tavares. Maurinho Tavares scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aloísio Pirani, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the match, Flávio Dante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Paulo Zonta. PIAUÍ FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flávio Dante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Dida Coelho came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and José Paulo Zonta could save by the left post. Flávio Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Flávio Dante struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. José Paulo Zonta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zebus FC. Aloísio Pirani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Aloísio Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurinho Tavares in the 26th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Baltazar Barral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Paulo Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flávio Dante might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Paulo Zonta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flávio Dante ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Zebus FC's zone, Abel Donatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aloísio Pirani came out of the goal and Abel Donatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of PIAUÍ FC booed when Zebus FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Lombardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Zebus FC's Flávio Dante dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2.

In the 51st match minute, Zebus FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Lombardo to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maurinho Tavares got free with Aloísio Pirani in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 54th play minutes Flávio Dante shot 3-2, a short shot which went by José Paulo Zonta and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of PIAUÍ FC booed when Zebus FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Lombardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flávio Dante in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Paulo Zonta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, PIAUÍ FC's Zé Roberto Velloso got a free kick in the 78th minute. When Flávio Dante came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Zebus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flávio Dante couldn't finish the play. Emerson Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Clemente Netto struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Donatello couldn't finish the play.
