Ulisses Penha came out of the goal and Wanderson Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 8 played minutes Pinheiros Capibaras FC got a freekick which was hit by Lenílson Velasco. In the 10th minute, Ricardinho Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beto de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenílson Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The supporters of Vila Nova FC booed when Pinheiros Capibaras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Pinheiros Capibaras FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Norbert Glembin hit a great ball. Wanderson Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Penha having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Baptista in the 28th minute of play forced Pinheiros Capibaras FC's goalkeeper Ulisses Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beto de Sousa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lenílson Velasco went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 37 minutes, Ricardinho Vides mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vila Nova FC and the Pinheiros Capibaras FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Ricardinho Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adhemar Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute of the match, Lenílson Velasco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Beto de Sousa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 56th match minute, Pinheiros Capibaras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio Rezende to maneuver through the defense. Beto de Sousa came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Pinheiros Capibaras FC's Norbert Glembin. But to his dismay, Norbert Glembin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 65thth minute of the game Norbert Glembin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vila Nova FC's Beto de Sousa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Norbert Glembin sped through Vila Nova FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Beto de Sousa. If Cido Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
