Luisão de Senna struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Luisão Seco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube Audax Metropolitano. The audience was convinced that Yuri Djorkaeff's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luisão Seco was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. After 10 minutes, Luisão de Senna made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Mexilhão F. C.'s Luisão Seco tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 17 minutes, Yuri Djorkaeff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Audax Metropolitano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yuri Djorkaeff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luisão Seco came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Audax Metropolitano's Yuri Djorkaeff. But to his dismay, Yuri Djorkaeff quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Luisão Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliézer da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armandinho Abreu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luisão Seco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Armandinho Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luisão Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armandinho Abreu in the 33rd minute of the match. Mexilhão F. C.'s Luisão Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão de Senna in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th match minute, Mexilhão F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Terra to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Mexilhão F. C. defense, Luisão de Senna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisão Seco. The Mexilhão F. In the 41st minute Armandinho Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Clube Audax Metropolitano's Yuri Djorkaeff nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luisão Seco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. The Mexilhão F. C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Clube Audax Metropolitano were winning 0-7.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Almir Loureiro was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Clube Audax Metropolitano's goal looked a bit too open when João Francisco Mendes came free, but Pedro Rangel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luisão Seco made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Armandinho Abreu sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Mexilhão F. C.'s Luisão Seco got control of the ball when Armandinho Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Armandinho Abreu succeeded in the game's 62nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-8. Clube Audax Metropolitano's Eliézer da Cunha got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th match minute, Mexilhão F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willian Rosa to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Alberto Parreira, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 73 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by João Francisco Mendes. Mexilhão F. C.'s Luisão Seco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Mexilhão F. C. from getting a goal against them. Armandinho Abreu scored 0-10 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luisão Seco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yuri Djorkaeff in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luisão Seco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 0-11 became the score in the 82nd minute when Yuri Djorkaeff elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Armandinho Abreu scored 0-12 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luisão Seco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mexilhão F. C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Armandinho Abreu scored to the left of an out of position Luisão Seco, making the score, 0-13. Willian Rosa hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Hélio Loureiro hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. After 96 played minutes, Mexilhão F. C.'s Almir Loureiro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Rangel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexilhão F. C. reached it.
