Spectators: 162 (Terracing: 122, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Valdomiro Duarte kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Valdomiro Duarte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Várzea F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Grêmio FBPA's Bernardinho Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdomiro Duarte in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Aníbal Paes notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Grêmio FBPA's Bernardinho Guerra. Bernardinho Guerra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 14 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Marinho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Rosado in the 28th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Bernardinho Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filipe Mendonça hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Valdomiro Duarte sped through Grêmio FBPA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardinho Guerra. Bernardinho Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, Valdomiro Duarte notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Grêmio FBPA's Bernardinho Guerra. Bernardinho Guerra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 46 minutes into the match, Gildo Fantini had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romeu Batista. Várzea F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gildo Fantini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gildo Fantini to strike the kick off in the second half. Edu Zonta took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romeu Batista. Romeu Batista dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-6. After some careless play in the Grêmio FBPA defense, Alessandro Mandrak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardinho Guerra. The Grêmio FBPA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardinho Guerra should have stopped the shot. Várzea F.C.'s Valdomiro Duarte was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 60th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When Rogério Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Várzea F.C.'s protests and gave Rogério Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. Rogério Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Romeu Batista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Grêmio FBPA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gildo Fantini in the 67th minute. The corner ended in Gildo Fantini almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Várzea F.C.'s Romeu Batista did a great save. After 68 minutes of play, Várzea F.C.'s Valdomiro Duarte made it 2-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardinho Guerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aníbal Paes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute, Aníbal Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Romeu Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gildo Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Grêmio FBPA booed when Várzea F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Mandrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA's Ademir de Amaral got a free kick in the 89th minute. Edu Zonta struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Romeu Batista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio FBPA. In the 94th minute, Marcelinho Meireles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Grêmio FBPA's Ademir de Amaral got his second yellow card of the match in the 95th minute. The referee ordered Ademir de Amaral off the ground. In the 96th minute of the match Bruninho Arósio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bernardinho Guerra skillfully saved the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Várzea F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
