Augusto Rosa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 8 minutes into the match, Faustão Saldanha notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Simão in the 19th minute of play forced Matadores FC's goalkeeper Kauã Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Quintal. After a defensive mix-up in Palestra do Interior's zone, Davi Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante came out of the goal and Davi Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Augusto Rosa took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Faustão Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. William Luz hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Rosa got free with Antônio Carlos Cavalcante in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. César Velloso's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. César Velloso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Matadores FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. César Velloso hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Serafim Simão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kauã Sarmento was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faustão Saldanha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustão Saldanha in the 51st minute of play. Dedé Mazer lost his temper 56 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Sandy Ogrocki hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match.
