In the 6th match minute, Manly FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mourad Rocchi to maneuver through the defense. Steve Haskell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th minute of the match, Randle Rutledge got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edward Magrath was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Frenchville Sports Club booed when Manly FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mourad Rocchi didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Frenchville Sports Club's Edward Magrath got control of the ball when Mourad Rocchi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Randle Rutledge in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edward Magrath saved Frenchville Sports Club from getting behind. Edward Magrath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Randle Rutledge, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. There was no doubt that Manly FC were the better team. Manly FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
