After 10 minutes, Samuel Fasey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Adelaide and the The Obscurials players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Adelaide was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Fasey to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, Adriano Ribeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kirby Houldsworth. Adelaide's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adriano Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Kirby Houldsworth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adriano Ribeiro's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Zheng Chao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Shipp, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 22nd minute Adriano Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kirby Houldsworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Adriano Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kirby Houldsworth was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Adriano Ribeiro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 37 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Long Haberle to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 85 minutes into the game, one of Adelaide:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 87th minute there was a penalty for The Obscurials. Anders Westerstrand stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kirby Houldsworth. 7-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lawrance Grandison in the 90th minute of play forced Adelaide's goalkeeper Kirby Houldsworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the game, The Obscurials's Lawrance Grandison nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kirby Houldsworth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 9-0 when Lawrance Grandison sped through Adelaide's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kirby Houldsworth. The Obscurials walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
