Hondo Iribarria was a little too slow when Marcos Akerman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. Xurde Buiza kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Otilio Galindez got free with Hondo Iribarria in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute, Otilio Galindez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Obrero Barquisimeto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After a rather tough play, Obrero Barquisimeto's Otilio Galindez got a free kick in the 28th minute. Raphael Mosquera kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Otilio Galindez notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's Hondo Iribarria. Hondo Iribarria was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Otilio Galindez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Marcos Akerman made a precise shot to the right of Hondo Iribarria. Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. In the 42nd minute, Marcos Akerman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hondo Iribarria was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Hondo Iribarria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otilio Galindez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Otilio Galindez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Otilio Galindez made a kick off. Hondo Iribarria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otilio Galindez in the 55th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's zone, Paulo Antoñana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hondo Iribarria came out of the goal and Paulo Antoñana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58thth minute of the game Marcos Akerman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's Hondo Iribarria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Marcos Akerman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Obrero Barquisimeto's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Akerman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hondo Iribarria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcos Akerman struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Hondo Iribarria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Obrero Barquisimeto. Marcos Akerman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luciano Aza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Berenjenas de Punto Fijo getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Paco Morquecho hit a great ball. If Otilio Galindez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Otilio Galindez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hondo Iribarria having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Otilio Galindez notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's Hondo Iribarria. Hondo Iribarria was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Otilio Galindez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hondo Iribarria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Akerman, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Juan José Issa charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan José Issa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Obrero Barquisimeto getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Juan José Issa hit a great ball. Obrero Barquisimeto's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
