After a rather tough play, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's Cristo Quijada got a free kick in the 44th minute. Inocente Romai might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emanuel Neuer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Inocente Romai ran back to his position shaking his head. The Berenjenas de Punto Fijo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Real Unión CF were winning 0-2.

Odilon Rozano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Raphael Mosquera came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Berenjenas de Punto Fijo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raphael Mosquera couldn't finish the play. Hondo Iribarria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gutierre Chamorro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
