After a rather tough play, Maritek FC's Ciro Abete got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Eugenio Citrullo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anfilogino Chiola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Maritek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Beppe Zoff came free, but Eugenio Citrullo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amerigo Toninelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Eugenio Citrullo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frank Di Cintio during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sorci Viola booed when Maritek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Di Cintio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 minutes of play, Sorci Viola's Anfilogino Chiola made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Citrullo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eugenio Citrullo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anfilogino Chiola, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beppe Zoff in the 31st minute of play forced Maritek FC's goalkeeper Eugenio Citrullo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Amerigo Toninelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eugenio Citrullo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anfilogino Chiola in the 34th minute of play. Maritek FC's Eugenio Citrullo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anfilogino Chiola in the 36th minute of play. Eugenio Citrullo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amerigo Toninelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amerigo Toninelli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eugenio Citrullo having to make a save. After the first half Sorci Viola were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Beppe Zoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Citrullo having to interfere. When Enzo Pellegrini fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sorci Viola's protests and gave Enzo Pellegrini a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Sorci Viola got a freekick which was hit by Enzo Pellegrini. Ciro Abete took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Domenico Sabatino. Sorci Viola's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Beppe Zoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Citrullo having to interfere. Sorci Viola's Domenico Sabatino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tin Kula in the 59th minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Maritek FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anfilogino Del Giudice to maneuver through the defense. Eugenio Di Giuseppe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Maritek FC booed when Sorci Viola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amerigo Toninelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Domenico Sabatino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tin Kula in the 69th minute of the match. Amerigo Toninelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Evert Rudkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Eugenio Citrullo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anfilogino Chiola, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. A nice corner shot did that Beppe Zoff got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eugenio Citrullo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Tin Kula had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Anfilogino Chiola notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Maritek FC's Eugenio Citrullo. Eugenio Citrullo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Sorci Viola booed when Maritek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Santangelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes in the game Beppe Zoff got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Maritek FC were furious when Camillo Salomone was red carded, 94 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Maritek FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! In the 98th minute there was a penalty for Sorci Viola. Beppe Zoff stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eugenio Citrullo. 0-4. When the match was over Sorci Viola could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Maritek FC throughout the match.
