In the 22ndth minute of the game Beppe Zoff who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stintino FC's Filippo Antenucci was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Stintino FC. After 45 played minutes Stintino FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrea Fabrizi. Filippo Antenucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beppe Zoff in the 47th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Claudio Atroce made the kick off in the second half. When Beppe Zoff fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sorci Viola's protests and gave Beppe Zoff a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sorci Viola's Beppe Zoff got a free kick in the 57th minute. Beppe Zoff took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filippo Antenucci. Filippo Antenucci dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Beppe Zoff could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Filippo Antenucci made a huge save. In the 88th minute Anfilogino Chiola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filippo Antenucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 played minutes Sorci Viola got a freekick which was hit by Amerigo Toninelli. Sorci Viola's Domenico Sabatino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Carbonetti in the 92nd minute of play. Sorci Viola played a much better game than Stintino FC and deserved their victory. The Stintino FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
