The coaching staff of Borgo Doria F.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Corrado Urbani had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Borgo Doria F.C.:s Cristoforo Cesare showed great skill when he stopped Augusto Caligaris:s penalty. 16 minutes into the game, Augusto Caligaris cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Cristoforo Cesare was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Francesco Proietto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arrigo Sciarretta in the 24th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Amerigo Pace notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Borgo Doria F.C.'s Cristoforo Cesare. Cristoforo Cesare was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Borgo Doria F.C.'s Anfilogino Consalvi in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. San Michele AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Francesco Proietto was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Giacomo Renzi. In the 42nd minute, Amerigo Pace got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emanuele Evangelista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Borgo Doria F.C. defense, Amerigo Pace kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristoforo Cesare. The Borgo Doria F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristoforo Cesare should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amerigo Pace stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Francesco Proietto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristoforo Tellini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, Cristoforo Tellini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francesco Proietto was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. The supporters of San Michele AFC booed when Borgo Doria F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Farina didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 62 minutes, Alberto Farina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borgo Doria F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Farina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute Anfilogino Consalvi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Proietto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th match minute, Borgo Doria F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giacomo Renzi to maneuver through the defense. After 68 minutes, Cristoforo Fabiani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borgo Doria F.C. and the San Michele AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 68 played minutes Borgo Doria F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Cristoforo Fabiani. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anfilogino Consalvi in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francesco Proietto saved San Michele AFC from getting behind. In the 76th match minute, Borgo Doria F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristoforo Tellini to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute Amerigo Pace shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristoforo Cesare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Borgo Doria F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of San Michele AFC:s goal. In the 96th match minute, San Michele AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuele Evangelista to maneuver through the defense. San Michele AFC's Emanuele Evangelista got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The San Michele AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing San Michele AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
