With 13 minutes on the clock, Ferruccio Prandini commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Ferruccio Prandini kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Amicone in the 14th minute of play forced Villa Gordiani's goalkeeper Ciro Del Vecchio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carter Marsili in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciro Del Vecchio saved Villa Gordiani from getting behind. When San Mauro A Mare FC's Carter Marsili in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Villa Gordiani's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carter Marsili in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciro Del Vecchio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ferruccio Gelsomini kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, San Mauro A Mare FC's goalkeeper Anselmo Costacurta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adriano Barone. When San Mauro A Mare FC's Carter Marsili in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Villa Gordiani's goalie prevented a goal. Ciro Del Vecchio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carter Marsili, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. If Cristiano Carulli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's goal looked a bit too open when Carter Marsili came free, but Ciro Del Vecchio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dave Pittelli came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the San Mauro A Mare FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dave Pittelli couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute Carter Marsili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Del Vecchio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

A hard shot 53 in the game by Carter Marsili from a close distance when the talented Ciro Del Vecchio managed to make a qualified save. Villa Gordiani's players were relieved. Carter Marsili's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Ciro Del Vecchio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Carter Marsili recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristiano Carulli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ciro Del Vecchio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 61 minutes, Adriano Barone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villa Gordiani's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adriano Barone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute, Adriano Barone ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anselmo Costacurta was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Anselmo Costacurta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amedeo Scarpa in the 68th minute of play. In the 71stth minute of the game Carter Marsili who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villa Gordiani's Ciro Del Vecchio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of San Mauro A Mare FC booed when Villa Gordiani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enzo Bearzot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ciro Del Vecchio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carter Marsili in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, San Mauro A Mare FC's goal looked a bit too open when Attilio Verdone came free, but Anselmo Costacurta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 played minutes Villa Gordiani got a freekick which was hit by Enzo Bearzot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carter Marsili in the 82nd minute of play forced Villa Gordiani's goalkeeper Ciro Del Vecchio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Dave Pittelli dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ciro Del Vecchio, 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the San Mauro A Mare FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Villa Gordiani.
