After having played for 18 minutes, Davy Patron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosa nostra Lyon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davy Patron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Victorien Favrot kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Bogdan Bambas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Almir Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bogdan Bambas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Almir Sarmento having to make a save. 35 minutes into the match, Olympique Salonais's goal looked a bit too open when Bogdan Bambas came free, but Almir Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almir Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bogdan Bambas in the 39th minute of play. Olympique Salonais's Almir Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogdan Bambas in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Cosa nostra Lyon's Bogdan Bambas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Almir Sarmento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The Olympique Salonais players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cosa nostra Lyon were winning 0-2.

Olympique Salonais made a substitution. Florian Amouroux replaced Léonard Kwiatkowski. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bertrand Requier was the one to do the kick off. Almir Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bogdan Bambas in the 52nd minute of play. Davy Patron's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Almir Sarmento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. After 55 played minutes Davy Patron scored with a long sweeping shot just to the left of Almir Sarmento who was too lazy, 0-3. 57 minutes into the match, Bogdan Bambas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Almir Sarmento, 0-4. Erwann Patrice fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almir Sarmento having to interfere. The referee showed Prosper Basson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cosa nostra Lyon booed when Olympique Salonais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prosper Basson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosa nostra Lyon's José Rivera was substituted for Bogdan Bambas. Olympique Salonais made a substitution. Julien Jeannot replaced Yann Dieumegard. After some careless play in the Olympique Salonais defense, José Rivera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Almir Sarmento. The Olympique Salonais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Almir Sarmento should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Olympique Salonais's zone, José Rivera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almir Sarmento came out of the goal and José Rivera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Rivera blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Almir Sarmento having to make a save. In the 93rd minute, José Rivera reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Almir Sarmento. The goal made the score 0-6. Cosa nostra Lyon's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
