Thierry Fouet made in the 20th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Cosa nostra Lyon's Fernando Evangelista. Ground Control's Fabien Nunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Ground Control from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Ground Control getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Thierry Fouet hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Bacary Kerneis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Ground Control's goal looked a bit too open when Erwann Patrice came free, but Fabien Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Youri Lignon fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ground Control's protests and gave Youri Lignon a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Bogdan Bambas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabien Nunes was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Ground Control's Just Bazoge got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Cosa nostra Lyon's goal looked a bit too open when Just Bazoge came free, but Ahmid Lamouroux reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erwann Patrice received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bogdan Bambas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Fabien Nunes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Just Bazoge made a kick off. Ahmid Lamouroux was a little too slow when Just Bazoge got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-1. When Alphonse Mathevet came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Ground Control fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alphonse Mathevet couldn't finish the play. If Bogdan Bambas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cosa nostra Lyon's Willy Hautefeuille managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Youri Lignon in the 67 minute of the game. Fabien Nunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erwann Patrice in the 70th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Cosa nostra Lyon's goal looked a bit too open when Just Bazoge came free, but Ahmid Lamouroux reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florian Lardenois's late challenge caught a Ground Control's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Davy Patron might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabien Nunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Davy Patron ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davy Patron in the 83rd minute of play forced Ground Control's goalkeeper Fabien Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
