Shao Jing Yuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Laurentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Shao Jing Yuan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Adrio in the 10th minute of the match. Hermosillo FC's Silverio Bieito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Bertol in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of Hermosillo FC booed when Santa Fe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustaquio Obano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Fe's zone, Samuel Laurentzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shao Jing Yuan came out of the goal and Samuel Laurentzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samuel Laurentzi in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shao Jing Yuan saved Santa Fe from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toro Murillo got free with Silverio Bieito in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th minute, Venancio Bertol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emiliano Victoro kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Florentino Elixio kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Shao Jing Yuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Laurentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute Samuel Laurentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shao Jing Yuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Toro Murillo made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Hermosillo FC's Marciano Frasco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shao Jing Yuan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a little luck, Santa Fe's Shao Jing Yuan got control of the ball when Samuel Laurentzi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Silverio Bieito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Bertol, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Conrado Mirande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shao Jing Yuan having to interfere. Marciano Frasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santa Fe's Shao Jing Yuan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Santa Fe from getting a goal against them. Hélio Sousa hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hermosillo FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
