Alfredo Barcena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ulizes Sola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Ferreiras during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alexander Ferreiras hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 24 played minutes Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre got a freekick which was hit by Héctor Presedo. Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre's Alfredo Barcena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zarando Eguizabal in the 25th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Abecia came free, but Walter Huarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Barcena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javier Landeras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre defense, Dani Galiana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfredo Barcena. The Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfredo Barcena should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgar Abecia made a kick off. Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre's Alfredo Barcena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre from getting a goal against them. 55 minutes into the game, Zarando Eguizabal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Astillero del Guayas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre the free kick. In the 55th minute, Zarando Eguizabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Astillero del Guayas's Dani Galiana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alfredo Barcena. That made the score 0-4 after 57 minutes of play. In the 64th minute Ulizes Sola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Barcena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Zarando Eguizabal notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre's Alfredo Barcena. Alfredo Barcena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alfredo Barcena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Javier Landeras in the 79th minute. Astillero del Guayas played a much better game than Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre and deserved their victory. The Ultimo Bondi a Finisterre players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
