In the 3rd minute, Juan José J.J. got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Honesto Palou charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Honesto Palou the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 played minutes Barrio Norte FC got a freekick which was hit by Honesto Palou. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Don Elias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barrio Norte FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Don Elias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manos Manteca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Juan José J.J. got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernán Albonico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan José J.J., even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Juan José J.J.'s extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernán Albonico was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. In the 31st minute, Don Elias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manos Manteca was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Barrio Norte FC's zone, Juan José J.J. stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernán Albonico came out of the goal and Juan José J.J. tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of U. de Tarapacá booed when Barrio Norte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Telo Metou didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Barrio Norte FC's goalkeeper Fernán Albonico had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan José J.J.. In the 40th minute, Honesto Palou left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barrio Norte FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juan José J.J. to strike the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Bafalluy kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Lautaro Bafalluy hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Fernán Albonico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan José J.J., who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Gilson Paraense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barrio Norte FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After 79 played minutes Barrio Norte FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Paraense. Honesto Palou received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Manos Manteca came out and tried to block the shot, but Honesto Palou slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 82nd minute. 91 minutes in the game Telo Metou did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Jean Paul Cruz. In the 92nd minute Gilson Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manos Manteca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Barrio Norte FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Barrio Norte FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
